23rd Jan 2018
On Friday 23rd January, Year 11 food preparation and nutrition students went to Gloucester services to do research on locally sourced foods. Students were able to learn about the supply chains around Gloucestershire and observed demonstrations from the butchers and fishmongers. They were then able to taste local organic pigs in blankets! The manager spoke about apprenticeship opportunities, which some of the students are keen to consider in the future and they were offered the opportunity to butcher their own meats at the site for their final practical assessment.
