Rotary Club Competition

10th Feb 2018

Towards the end of last year, five GCSE food preparation and nutrition students were chosen to compete in the Maidenhill round of the Rotary Young Chef competition.  The students had to design a menu that consisted of three courses and produce two portions of each course.  Francesco Volvo, a professional chef from Barnsley Manor and a team from the Stonehouse Rotary Club judged the entries.  All five students that took part were offered a day’s work experience with Francesco in the summer term.

Eva Bolton-Lake won and proceeded to the next round, which was held on Saturday 10th February in Bristol.  Although she didn’t go through to the final, she did exceptionally well and got excellent feedback from the judges.  Congratulations Eva.
