School Record Breaker

Congratulations to Oakley James for breaking the Year 7 school 1500m record.  He ran it in 5 minutes 23 seconds.

National Athletics

On Saturday 10th June, Lexie Bull represented Stroud District Schools in the County Athletics Championships in the U14 girls 1500M event.  After winning her event, she will now go onto represent Gloucestershire Schools in the National athletics competition.

Amey Women in Engineering

Well done to Ellie Jones, Lil Herbert, Grace Knight, Harriet Dodds, Leah Davey and Mikkie Bingle.

On 23rd May, they won the Amey Women in Engineering event against Barnwood Park school and will be representing Maidenhill and Gloucestershire at the final next term in Birmingham!

South West Junior Chef of the Year

 

Congratulations to Eva Bolton-Lake, Madeline East and Aleah Phipps who have been selected from a large number of entries from the county to compete in the South West Junior Chef of the Year competition. Of the 6 students selected, 3 were from Maidenhill!

UK Junior Maths Challenge

 

Congratulations to Pippa Benn for achieving a Gold award in the recent Junior Maths Challenge.  She will also be going on to compete in the next round later in the year.  Silver was awarded to Itvan Katona and Bronze to Rowan Phelps, Zoe Barton, Abigail Norman, Ruth Spring, Callum Morris, Maya Blackie, Neasa Neary, Jack Brown, Lennon Cooper, Hafren Lewis, Thomas Shirreff, Thomas Gibbs.

Central School of Ballet

Sam Banks, Year 11, has gained a place at the Central School of Ballet. He has been going for the last 4 years every Saturday, participating in their associate programme. From September, he will be there full time studying a Foundation & BA (Hons) Degree in Professional Dance and Performance. It's a fantastic opportunity for him. Well done Sam.

Stonehouse Young Person of the Year Award

Congratulations to Amie Radford, Year 11 who has been awarded the title of Young Person of the Year by Stonehouse Town Council at the Stonehouse Civic Awards ceremony 2018.  She was nominated by Mrs Wilson for her continuous charity work.

National Cross Country Championship

Congratulations to Oakley James, Year 7, who ran at the National Cross Country Championship race in Loughborough on Saturday 24th March and came 72 out of 169 runners.

UK Intermediate Maths Challenge

Congratulations to James Ayre in Year 10 who achieved the Gold award and also Leo Russo, Grace Knight, Aleah Phipps and Ashleigh Portlock who acheived a Bronze award in the recent UK Maths Challenge

Rotary Chef

Well done to Eva Bolton-Lake for winning the Maidenhill School round of the Rotary Chef competition during November.  We wish her luck in the next round in February

Congratulations to Wesley Lowe who came 1st in Gloucestershire's Got Talent on Saturday 23rd April for his wonderful singing.

Cheltenham Festival

Congratulations to Nicole Grist and Wesley Lowe who sang a duet at the Cheltenham festival on Saturday 7th May winning a Gold medal and the class Cup. The writeup they received was lovely and the winning song will be sung in the School Concert on 30th June.

Games Designer Award

Well done to ex-student Melissa Prosser for leaving Stafford University this year with a 1st Class Honours in Computer Gameplay Design and Production and for winning 1st place at GradEx with her final year project.

Young Person of the Year Award

After being nominated by Stonehouse Neighbourhood Plan (SNP) we would like to congratulate Oliver King for winning the Young Person of the Year Award 2015 for being the ‘voice’ of young people in Stonehouse in influencing the way that they proceed with housing plans and policies for future generations.
