Siena Pizza

Year 10 Hospitality students were visited by Ian of Siena Pizza in his pizza van. Students were shown how to make pizzas and cook them in a wood fired oven. Students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learnt a lot from the day.

BBC School News Report

Thursday 16th March saw the 11th annual BBC School News Report Day. Over 900 schools around the UK took part, including Maidenhill. Some students from Year 7 were selected to report about what is happening in school, online and around England.

World Book Day 2017

On Thursday 2nd March Maidenhill celebrated World Book Day. This year was extra special as it was the 20th anniversary, so students were given numerous opportunities to get involved with various activities across the school. Every student was entitled to their £1 vouchers and Key Stage Three students got to pick their book; with a special delivery arriving first thing Wednesday morning.

Ofsted Report

Ofsted have confirmed that Maidenhill is a good school following a two day inspection on 10th and 11th January 2017. Pam Wilson head teacher is delighted that the report recognises the hard work and commitment of students, staff, governors and parents enabling the students to achieve their personal best. She comments “Our positive ethos and purposeful working environment are clear to all who visit and we are all very proud of our school.”

Delphi Engineering 2017

Year 11 students took a guided tour of the Delphi Engineering site on the industrial estate in Stonehouse. The purpose of the visit was to meet the current Year 2 and Year 3 apprentices, to have a tour of the factory, to view the products produced at Delphi and gain further insight and knowledge about modern day apprenticeships.

Futures Day 2017

A group of students from Year 11 attended the Futures Day event hosted by Marling School. A large number of universities, higher education institutions and providers of apprenticeships attended the careers fair to provide valuable information for students on preparing for life beyond school.

Table Tennis Champion

The Gloucestershire Schools Individual table tennis championships were held at Waterwells on Saturday 28th January 2017. Stan Shilton, Year 8, won the semi-finals then won straight sets 11-6, 11-4, 11-8 in the final.

Mr Bargh took 20 Year 9 students to the first annual Cyberfest at Gloucestershire University where they joined other students from around the county to learn more about Computer Science, Cyber security and what job opportunities could be available to them if they continue their Computer Science education.
