Work Experience

I am pleased to inform you that we have launched ‘Year 10 work experience’ with our Year 10 students and informed them of the process in obtaining a work experience placement for the week beginning Monday 22nd June – Friday 26th June 2026.

Please find attached a covering letter and work experience placement form that needs completing in full by the student, parent/carer and employer before being returned to school via email by Friday 27th February 2026.

You will need to start to consider what area of industry or business your child might wish to engage with during work experience and that you start to contact local businesses, employers and family members that would be willing to offer a work experience placement to your child. All potential employers must provide their ‘Employer Liability’ policy number on the attached placement form. If a child undertaking a work experience placement with their parent or step parents the Employer Liability policy number will not be required, but is still advisable, as the parent or step parent will assume parental responsibility during the placement. All work experience placements will be verified by ERFA, an external Health and Safety advisor commissioned by Maidenhill School.

Further details can be found in the attached covering letter and work experience placement form. In addition, I would like to invite parents and carers to a work experience information evening at school on Tuesday 7th October at 5.30pm – 6.00pm where I will be providing some additional information and answer questions regarding work experience.

Regards
