Reporting to Parents
At Maidenhill School, we believe that regular communication between school and home is vital in supporting every student's progress and achievement. To ensure parents and carers are well informed, we use daily communication and reporting via our ClassCharts platform. We also provide more formal reporting through Review Points (RPs)and Parents' Evenings throughout the academic year.
Students in Years 7-10 receive three Review Points each year, while Year 11 students receive two Review Points, reflecting the shorter examination-focused year. These reports provide an overview of how students are progressing across their subjects and help families identify strengths, successes, and areas for improvement
Alongside Review Points, students in Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) have one Parents' Evening each year, providing an opportunity to discuss progress directly with subject teachers. Students in Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11) have a traditional Parents' Evening, as well as an online invitation-only Parents' Evening following mock examinations or internal assessments, allowing parents and carers to discuss examination performance and specific next steps with staff.
From September 2026, Review Points have been redesigned to provide parents with a clearer picture of student performance and progress. Review Points now include:
Commitment to Learning indicators
Homework indicators
A student's Minimum Expected Grade (MEG), showing the benchmark grade they should be aiming to achieve as a minimum based on prior attainment (not in Y7RP1)
A Projected Grade, indicating the grade a student is currently on track to achieve based on their performance to date (not in Y7RP1)
